Microsoft has officially released its AI-powered design app, Designer, on iOS and Android. The app allows users to generate images and designs with simple text prompts, similar to Canva.
Designer is now available in over 80 languages on the web, as a free mobile app, and as an app on Windows. The app features “prompt templates” to help users get started, and users can also create stickers, emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and more with text prompts.
In addition to creating new designs, the Designer can also be used to edit and restyle images with AI. Users can upload a selfie and choose from a set of styles or write in any extra details they want to see to transform their photo.
Microsoft is also integrating Designer with other Microsoft apps, such as Word and PowerPoint. Copilot Pro subscribers can create images and designs within their workflow, and soon users will be able to create a banner for their document in Word based on the content of their document. Microsoft Photos on Windows 11 is also getting a deeper integration with Designer, allowing users to edit photos without leaving the app.
